20 Exceptional Reasons Why Xylexin is the Ultimate Sealant of Choice!
- Weather Resistant. In lab and real world testing, Xylexin has shown no sign of blistering, cracking or delamination.
- Architectural Finishes. Xylexin offers a complete line of clear products from a matte finish to an optically clear finish as well as a full line of safety and architectural colors.
- Color Retention and Sheen Integrity. Xylexin will not lose gloss or color.
- UV Protection. Only Xylexin in unaffected by sunlight/ultraviolet rays. By comparison, epoxy shows early chalking and fading; polyurethanes will show fading of color and a loss of gloss in three to five years in high UV environments. Xylexin exceeds all ASTM testing.
- Usable in high traffic areas. Meets national standard of the coefficient of friction. Abrasion resistant. Superior to epoxy. Xylexin will not scuff.
- Superior Adhesion. Xylexin boasts an adhesion strength of 2700 psi. Conventional coatings offer 500-1000 psi.
- Class A Fire Rating. Xylexin is not combustible since it is essentially inorganic. Epoxies and polyurethanes will burn and generate smoke and toxic fumes. NFPA – Class A.
- Non-Yellowing. Unlike typical floor finishes, Xylexin will not yellow.
- Waterproof. Only Xylexin is strong enough to be used in showers, steam rooms, pool areas and waterparks.
- Resists Graffiti. Through testing by the London Underground, Xylexin scored 78% out of 80%. See Figure A.
- Resists oxidation. Xylexin is not affected by atmospheric oxygen and most oxidizing chemicals.
- High Solids. Xylexin has 92% solid and a one coat Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of 2.5 mil. Meets the most stringent VOC regulations.
- Hardness. Xylexin is harder than industrial epoxies, industrial polyurethanes, industrial powder coating and industrial acrylic urethanes. The level of hardness is associated with a level of scratch resistance.
- Resists chemicals and corrosion. The chemical compounds in Xylexin do not break down or corrode.
- USDA Approved. Xylexin is approved for indirect food contact. (Can be used on kitchen countertops, backsplashes, cabinets and floors.)
- Enhanced Elasticity. While being extremely hard, Xylexin is also flexible.
- Self Priming. Xylexin can be applied directly over inorganic zincs which means less surface preparation and lower costs. Xylexin is also compatible with a wide range of primers that can be used in numerous projects and applications.
- Easy Application. Xylexin can be brushed on, rolled on, sprayed or run through coating systems.
- Unlimited Top Coat Window. Xylexin does not need to be prepped for additional coats. Easy field touchup.
- Product Versatility. Xylexin has been formulated to coat all architectural applications that require coating.
